History & Organization

The origins of Discovery Vacations Network (DVN) began in 1973 with the formation of Multi Resort Ownership Partnership (MROP) and their original resort in Bear Lake Utah. This resort consisted of 191 condominiums on a lake front property. MROP initially sold whole units. Late in 1973, MROP began selling timeshares on a membership basis. The first association was called Multi-Resort Membership Partnership. The partnership was changed legally from a limited partnership to a non-profit corporation which changed the name to Multi Resort Ownership Plan, Inc. (MROP)

Over the next 40 years the plan grew in resort locations and members. Today, the association boasts over 40 resort locations and approximately 9,000 weeks available to its members. MROP is actively managed by a nine (9) member board who is tasked with managing the associations affairs.

In 2006, MROP hired Vacation Resorts International (VRI) to manage all day to day functions of the association.

Today, MROP Has Again Evolved By Introducing A New Membership Offering, Discovery Vacations Network (DVN).

DVN Members have all the same rights and privileges as the legacy MROP owners plus they are automatically enrolled in Interval International’s Club Interval Gold (CIG) membership each year.

Club Interval Gold enables DVN members to exchange their membership week (s) for points that can be used as trading currency for week long stays throughout Interval’s network of nearly 3200 resorts around the world. They can also use their points for ShortStay exchanges from 1-6 days as well as Cruise, Spa, Golf or Hotel stays and tour vacations and experiential travel.
