You’ll be pampered perfectly with ocean views, white sand beach and amenities galore. Located on St. Maarten just south of the amicable French/Dutch divide, you’ll find adventure, serenity, and your life’s dreams come true at this exotic, tropical island resort.
An island paradise, St. Martin/St. Maarten offers countless activities. Try your hand at sailing, jet skiing, parasailing, scuba diving and snorkeling. Island visitors can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and parachuting.
The clear blue water off the island makes for ideal snorkeling and scuba diving conditions. Dawn Beach is among the island’s best spots for snorkeling just off the beach. However, opportunities for more in-depth exploration abound and you can book half-day and full-day trips for snorkeling and diving among the area’s colorful reefs. Captain Alan, owner of five slips in the Oyster Bay Marina, offers three- and six-hour snorkeling tours daily. Make sure you enjoy this unique experience by making reservations in advance on his website or through our reservations department by calling (721) 543-6040 or toll free 1-866-978-0212.
Experience the island’s underwater life, without getting wet, and book an excursion aboard the Seaworld Explorer — a semi-submarine with large windows for underwater viewing. You can also charter a sailboat from nearby Simpson Lagoon, or Cole Bay, or ride on the swift and spacious 60-foot catamaran from Bluebeard Charters for a trip to Anguilla. Deep sea fishing trips are also available through Lee’s Deep Sea Fishing.
Join us Sunday morning in the courtyard for an orientation session providing an opportunity to hear all about these activities and meet the people that run them. You’ll also receive a fascinating history lesson and cultural brief from a local historian. St. Martin/St. Maarten has a rich history and culture worth exploring. Stop by the courtyard Sunday morning to learn more.
When you tire of wearing your bathing suit (if that’s even possible), head for terra firma for a bike ride between Simpson Bay and the French lowlands. Or take a mountain biking adventure or a hike to the highest peak on the island, Pic Paradis (Paradise Peak), where you also can enjoy the excitement of its zip-line obstacle courses. There’s a course for adults (more arduous and quite a workout) and one for children.

The ferry ride lasts approximately 45 minutes and costs between US$40 and US$60 round-trip (beverages may be included). Flying only takes 10 minutes and is reasonably priced. Many guests recommend flying to St. Barths and returning by ferry.

On St. Martin/St. Maarten, there’s a beach for every mile. Our tiny, 37 square miles of island includes 37 beaches — some of them are “clothing optional” (on the French side). As a guest at the Oyster Bay Beach Resort, you‘ll enjoy the convenient access to Dawn Beach and all it has to offer.

Great Bay Beach
One of many well-known sites on the Dutch side of the island, Great Bay Beach offers sweeping views of the ocean and the cruise ships entering the harbor. Sandy beaches, beachside cafes, a wide beachfront boardwalk and its proximity to shopper’s paradise — Front Street — make it an attractive location.

Orient Bay
Well-known as one of St. Maarten’s most liberal beaches (clothing optional), Orient Bay on the French side of the island is two miles of white sand and five separate beaches. Each of these beaches are served by a different French-owned beach concession with wonderful food and drink available in beach huts well off the pristine beach. The bay is also a haven for parasailing, water skiing, wave runners, windsurfing and horseback riding. Our resort sponsors weekly parties at Bikini Beach, which includes transportation to the beach as well as food and drink.
Baie Lounge
St. Martin’s longest and one of the most private beaches, Baie Lounge is located among some of the island’s most exclusive pieces of real estate.
