Acquired by Barceló Hotel Group in 2015, the Occidental Vacation Club, initially Allegro Vacation Club, began selling vacation club memberships in 1993 with the vision of developing a different, innovative product that would appeal to the most demanding vacationer.

Being part of a full scale all-inclusive resort company, allows our Club to provide a membership with high service levels and amenities including: a fully stocked bar in the room, members lounge, private restaurants and exclusive beach areas, depending on the resort.
Occidental Vacation Club enjoy a flexible program that allows for multiple uses during the year, any day arrival in four and five star resorts located mostly in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica, with the recent addition of the Barceló Hotels and Resorts plus an ample list of affiliated hotels offered in association with RCI, ICE and Diamond Resorts.

As a Grand Level member you will be assigned the most spacious and elegantly appointed suites, perfectly located within the resorts, with access to a private Pool or Jacuzzi and the Arena Beach Lounge, the private beach area with exclusive bar and staff waiting to be at your beck and call.
The Club Rewards Program started in May 2013, since then our members have generated over 90,000,00 points for their enjoyment.
You can use your points however you want, request the cash or arrange an airport pickup, pay your travel insurance, book a tour, excursion or a romantic dinner in advance, have a bottle of champagne waiting for you upon arrival, or maybe order a top notch cigar for your enjoyment.
Those are all ingredients of the perfect vacation! In addition to that, you will also be able to use your points towards the payment of your maintenance, reinstatement, upgrade, exchange or all-inclusive fees, plus add a few days and extend your vacation.

With the referral program, your friends will have the chance to the special treatment you have come to look forward to as a member, and you will earn cash or Rewards Points for inviting them to know more about the Club.

The membership is currently available in Mexico, Aruba and Dominican Republic where, aside from surreal beaches and important historical places, you have an endless source of activities to choose from. Riviera Maya, Aruba and the East Coast of Dominican Republic are all abundant in natural beauty that you can enjoy with all your senses. Choose your destination and we’ll take you to any of a dozen secluded beaches, natural parks or hidden wells, making it a truly unique experience.
As a Founders Club member you will have a 10% discount on bookings made for your regular week during the anniversary year. In the case you have already used your week this year the credit will apply for your next owner’s week booking. You just have to request your discount to your customer service agent at time of booking.
Our agents will be contacting all the clients that have already made a booking this year to issue the corresponding credit. If you do not get a call within the next four weeks, call us directly or advise your concierge upon check in.
During your anniversary year, the Club will grant you an additional Owners Week, free of maintenance fees. This will allow you to enjoy your vacation for two weeks during the year without having to wait for the 60 days to book bonus time. We cannot guarantee Club units but will do our best as the privilege is subject to availability, and due to limited inventory, it does not include stays in Aruba. Aruba Founders may use the extra week in any other club property of their choice.
MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE DISCOUNT
If during the course of your anniversary year, you decide to upgrade your membership level, let’s say from First Club to Grand Level or from a Studio unit to a one bedroom, you will be able to do so at a 25% discount. This discount must be issued upon purchase of the upgrade, so it is important that you let know the sales agent of your Founders privilege. Have in mind that if the discount is not applied at the time of purchase, the Club will not issue any other sort of credit.
RATE DISCOUNTS
As a Founders Club member, you will have a 10% discount on bookings made for your regular week during the anniversary year. In the case, you have already used your week this year the credit will apply for your next owner’s week booking. You just have to request your discount to your customer service agent at the time of booking.
FREE UNIT UPGRADE
On your anniversary year you will receive a category or unit upgrade free of charge depending on your current membership level:
AN ADDITIONAL WEEK WITH RCI (EVERY TWO YEARS)
As Founders Club member, aside from your regular week, every other year you will be awarded one RCI week free of charge. With the additional week, you will have a better chance to book at RCI properties on dates that can be difficult and time-consuming.
MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE DISCOUNT
Keep in mind that in order to maximize the available weeks, the Club will not issue an automatic RCI week to you, as you need to contact your customer service agent and request it. Once you have done this, we will deposit the week with RCI, and then you will be able to choose among more than 4,500 properties in their offering.
MORE POINTS IN THE CLUB REWARDS PROGRAM
After 10 years of membership in the Club, members begin to receive the privilege of earning points with each vacation they make, whether it is payment of category upgrades or unit type or all-inclusive fee.
Founders Club members will begin to accumulate points for any and all reservations made as of January 1 of their anniversary year. The use of the Points Exchange System will be based on the rules and regulations of this program.
